It means...
Advancing the transition to sustainable energy systems is crucial for tackling climate change and addressing other pressing societal challenges.
Sigrid Stagl's research focuses on the economics, social acceptance, environmental impacts, and broader socio-technical implications of various energy supply options.
Her policy-relevant work explores a wide range of technologies, including nuclear, coal, gas, and renewables, with an emphasis on both national and European contexts.
My focus:
Advancing the transition to sustainable energy systems is essential to address climate change and other critical societal challenges. My work focuses on the social structures that govern energy systems, such as the valuation of nuclear energy in the EU Taxonomy, as well as the processes that shape energy systems.
For over a decade I have led participatory processes at national, regional and local levels in the UK and Austria to develop, analyse and empower participants to make decisions about sustainable energy futures. Engaging with citizens and stakeholders in this collaborative work has been particularly rewarding.
